WINDOWS 11 DELEMMA
Is there more than one version of Win.11? The reason I'm asking, is this: Recently, I had to buy my wife a new computer. And of course, it came with Windows 11.
In getting it set up, I had to, 0r forced to use a Microsoft account in order to complete the setup. Also requiring me to use a password or pin number. Plus it hounded me to use Microsoft Edge, Bing, ect. After getting it all set up, and with a pin number, it now requires a pin number each time it wakes up. Normally, that would be ok in a reboot, but after each awake ?? The program has not given me any way to resolve this. Now............
After a year or so of Microsoft hounding me to upgrade this, my primary PC, I finally bit the bullet & let it happen. I put it in upgrade mode, walked away & came back hours later to see what or if any damage or changes were made. To my astonishment, my desktop showed no change whatsoever. No need for pin number, no hounding for Edge or.....I've never used nor needed a password, so I was amazed that MS didn't offer or require same. So, is there more than one version of Windows 11 or not?? BTW, I use Google Chrome for a browser, altho I am not totally happy with it, the microphone use of it for both PC & cellphone seems to work better than most others. Thanks & have a great day.....

All the items you mentioned on the wife's computer should be OPTIONS.
You can install all the browsers you can get your hands on and use them all at the same time. YOU are in control....once you take control.
You can disable the need for a Password upon wake up....

Thanks Steve, for the reply.
Could you give me a step by step in the " the how to disable feature? I have tried using : netplwiz & find no option whatsoever allowing me to change her PW or Pin number. Thanks much. When you get to be 90, I'm sure you'll understand )

SETTINGS-> ACCOUNTS-> "Sign In Options" is where you should find both - Bootup password and after Sleep. (Look in the Require sign-in)
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Regarding : Quick access Folder. On my wife's new PC with Windows 11, a folder for quick access file folders was automatically installed onto her desktop during the setup of win 11.
I am trying to get a similar folder onto my PC, that was upgraded from 10 to 11. I can see all of the accumillated files of quick access nature but cannot get then into a single folder to install onto my desktop. Is their some trick to it? Thanks.
