Screen Dies During Calls Samsung A14

This is another ongoing problem. 10 seconds into an outgoing or incoming call the screen dies which makes it really annoying as I cannot see the keypad or any other options to mute or end the call.

My Google searches have also been fruitless.

-Setting, display, screen timeout. This was one of the first setting I changed when I got the phone and it has worked fine... except during phone calls! It still dies 10 seconds in.

-"Smart Stay" is an app which keeps being recommended. I found no such app installed or offered from Samsung or the Google Play store.

-Settings, Advanced Features, Motions and Gestures, "Keep Phone On While Viewing" No such option or similar option exists.

-Go to the Phone icon, settings, "Turn off screen during calls" no such option or similar option exists.

    Please help!

Forgot to mention, the screen dies regardless of where the phone is physically located, in front of my face, by my ear, or set down.

Thanks for the super quick response.

This link recommended the "KinScreen" app which does seem to be working and my phone isn't dying during calls. I'm unclear if my phone will still automatically power down after 10 minutes as per the Samsung settings. I will report back.

These were the first two posts I found for this issue but I could not locate the "Smart Stay" app and under "Motions and Gestures" "Keep Phone On While Viewing" did not exist.

The next three links recommended updating the software. Indeed I made sure the software was updated before starting.

Just to report back. KinScreen app has been working to keep the phone on during calls.

However a new problem developed where the screen timed out during no calls after only 20 second. When I went into the phone setting to adjust the time, whatever time circle I checked only stayed checked for a second, hence I could not adjust the screen time.

Went into KinScreen app and played with the settings.

Afterwards I was able to go back into the phone setting and successfully change the screen timeout.

I also noticed the KinScreen app link on this thread no longer works. But I would still recommend trying KinScreen to anyone. They may just need to play with its setting the get the desired result.

It looks like the forum software mangled your repost of the link to the KinScreen article. The link is below:

I did find one other setting which needed to be corrected.

For keeping the screen on while nothing is in use, no apps, no phone calls KinScreen will override whatever the phone settings are back to 20 seconds even thought 10 minutes may be set on the phone.

The number of seconds must also be changed in KinScreen. The maximum is 999 seconds or 16 1/2 minutes which is plenty of time. This is only when nothing is in use.
