Resolved [RESOLVED] Using The Whole Drive

    Windows 11

I cloned my 500 GB hard drive to a 1 TB hard drive and thought I was making it just one partition. There are 2 partitions. (C 476.94 GB NTFS and 476.93 GB Unallocated. I want to make it 1 partition without losing anything. How do I do that?

    Thanks.

Is this actually resolved or not?

What cloning software did you use? You usually have to choose an option to expand the image to use the available space. Otherwise, it will probably default to the size of the original partition.

Anything can happen when resizing partitions, so make a backup first. If you still have the original hard drive intact, then I suppose that's your backup.

You could try expanding the partition in Disk Management.

If that doesn't work, you can use a third-party tool like Minitool:

If I remember right I clicked on "extend or retrack" and dragged the right line to extend the SSD drive I wanted to make just one partition and it worked. I don't know why I didn't get it to work in the first place. You are right. It just went to the original size. So it is for sure resolved. Thanks for the help!
