Microsoft 11 and Microsoft Edge
I have Microsoft 11 on my lap top. Someone told me that if I was using Microsoft Edge that I do not need as anti-virus program as Microsoft has their own built in.
I do not believe everything people tell me so I am here to know if this is true.
Do I need another virus program?

Windows 11 (and 10) has the built in antivirus, not the browser. Many here use it as their main antivirus as it's improved considerably over the years. You can still use the free version of Malwarebytes to do occasional/weekly scans though as it looks for things most a/v's do not and it's very reliable.

So, one more question. Therefore, do I not need to add an anti-virus program such as Avast?

I had another strange thing happen this afternoon since I was here. I just got on my lap top and in the middle of my screen is an icon that shows a picture of a puppy and says "Dogs for Sale near me." Now I have been looking for a puppy but never downloaded a page or app).
What the heck and what to do. I try to move it but I cannot and not about to open it.

Is it a browser shortcut? Right click it and select properties to see more details. Is there an option to delete it? Also scan it with the a/v. Might be time to install and run Malwarebytes I linked to above.
Also wondering if it might just have been accidentally put there as a desktop image...

So you've tried right clicking it and selecting properties? You've tried dragging it from its place on the desktop to see if it is a moveable icon? Have you tried checking to see if it's been made a desktop background/image?
Try finding any other jpg on the computer, right clicking it and selecting to make it the new desktop background to see if it replaces this one.
