    ABOUT THE CLONING DOCK STATION?

    Good morning;

    A while back someone mentioned of a docking station that one could do cloning also.
    Is there a particular brand that would work the best ?

    Also, if one has a 500gb HD (laptop size) with the latest install of Win.10, could it be
    cloned to a 1TB SSD HD?? Or would you have to start from scratch on 1TB?

    Thanks as aways for your input....

    HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!!

    You could create an image backup of the HD, and then restore it to the SSD. I use Acronis TrueImage, but you could also use something like Macrium Reflect. WD and Seagate have free versions of TI.

    SSDs have different partition alignments from HDs, so you need software that can properly detect and realign them.

    With the docking station/duplicator powered off and disconnected from your computer, insert the source drive (the drive you wish to copy) into slot 1 and the target drive into slot 2. 2 – Press the Clone button to start the cloning process.
