    Thunderbird default file location

    What ho one and all,

    I want to scream!!!!

With OE6, I changed the default file location to a folder on D:/E-Mail BackUp, from where I had my backup program, always copy any changes to another HDD on the fly. Always worked a treat and never failed me.

I want to do similar with TB so have changed the default file location to D:/Email -TB. Restarted TB and now nothing is showing. However, new incoming are displayed, but all the previous inbox, sent, etc. are not displayed as folders.

However, my backup program is backing up from the new location so something is working.

Having changed the file location, how can I see everything?

Fortunately, yesterday, I took an image of C: so can recover in the worst case but would rather not.

Hit it with the image restoration hammer so back where I was.

Having changed the mail store file location, everything was working but the main TB screen opened with all folders empty. Inbox had nothing whereas before changing the location, thee were around 120 e-mails inside. Seems that moving the default folder location erases the contents of all folders. I was unable to get them back again, hence the imager restore.

What am I missing or doing wrong?
