That drive should work OK, however, I see that it is a 5400 RPM drive. What sort of price are you paying for that drive? You may be able to get a 7200 RPM drive for a similar price.

I did a similar upgrade on my media server PC a couple of years ago but chose an SSD drive instead. Everything runs so much faster. I bought a 250G drive and a 1G USB external drive for storage (and later added another 1 Gig 7200 rpm internal drive for even more and faster storage.

    eg:

One bonus with WD drives is you get a free version of Acronis TrueImage for backing up your drives.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.
    Check back regularly for responses.

SSD drives will be faster, but also likely more expensive. In addition, you need to adhere to a strict backup plan for them, since when they fail, there is no warning and your data is gone, with no recovery option. Of course, you should be backing up your data anyway, no matter what type of drive you have.

Yes I have all my important files on other drives and the cloud ..
The main drive is O/S updates // programs // and some files but then again backed up.

Is this current / replacement drive just for your data, and you have the OS on a different drive already? If the drive is just for data, and you are not doing anything like image or video editing or CAD development, then a 5400 RPM drive might be OK.
