Internet connection Issue
I have an ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Gigabit+ Cable Modem, which is almost 6 years old. My router is the TP-Link WiFi 6 AX3000 Smart WiFi Router (Archer AX50) 802.11ax Router, which is little over a year old. The links are below. I have a small fan blowing on both of them. The past few weeks or so, I loose internet connection few times a day. I only loose it for about a minute and then it comes back. I unplugged my router the other week to recycle it. I just unplugged my modem this morning (since I haven't done that for awhile) to recycle that, as well. I still lost connection once shortly after for about a minute again. I contacted my ISP provider to get what specs I should look for in a modem and they said 3.0 or 3.1 DOCSIS and 24x4 bonding. Could this be a sign that my modem is starting to show signs of the end of it's life, since it is about 6 yrs. old?

That is certainly a possibility. However, it is also possible that intermittent power drops or spikes are causing problems. You should at least have your modem and router on a surge suppressor, and I have mine on an uninterruptable power supply.

Hi, JDC2000. My modem and router are connected to an APC power back-up.

Which modem would be the better choice between the Arris Surfboard SB8200 and the Motorola MB8611 and would work best with the router that I have?
