Edge has begun adding spelling and words in my response in Gmail

I use Edge in Win 10 to access Gmail. For the past few days when I am responding to an email, in typing Edge will add words to a sentence, maybe going several characters back in the line of words. Sometimes I just have to just click "Delete" until several letters in the added group of letters are all deleted and then try again. Spelling check I do not mind, but this is "presumed" words or the like to complete, in Edge's way, the sentence. How do I stop this? It just began within the past week.

It might not be just Edge, it could be Windows 10. Se if the same thing happens in another web browser.

Thanks to each of you for replying. I does not happen with Firefox. As I was reading some other issues some have, a reply was to go to Settings, Apps and click on Edge and modify it. So I did that and at this time, this has not happened during three replies I have made in Edge. I will note the suggestions you made and if it begins again I will check each out. Thanks your support.
