[RESOLVED] Monitor is 90 degrees clockwise all of a sudden - Why?
Running Windows 10 upgrade from 8
My desktop monitor that I have hooked up to my laptop via HDMI (for over three years now) all of a sudden now shifted to 90 Degrees clockwise. Not just the taskbar but the entire display. This only happens while I have the lid of the laptop closed. Once I open the lid the monitor display shifts back rightside up where it should be. I may have hit a key or key combinations this while typing to do this. I can't figure out how to return it to normal.
I know you can click and drag the taskbar to move it to the left or right side of the display but the reset of the display would stay rightside up. In this case everything shifts 90 degrees clockwise.
Please help!!

You didn't tell us the make/model of the laptop, but you can try this. See if you can disable rotation.

Time Out!!
I went to follow the directions for display settings and the display reverted back to normal on its own.
I don't know why. Again, I must have changed something by typing a shortcut key etc in error with my big fat fingers.
So I am good to go.
Thanks

Crtl and Alt keys with any of the arrow keys to spin your display 90, 180 degrees.
Don't believe everything you think.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.

OUCH - should have added "Don't do this at home."
At least I learned something new today.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Fink, you nailed it!!!!!!!!
I just tested your post instructions (post #5)
It worked. I now know how and when I rotated the screen display in error. Since I have other persons living in the house I always do Ctrl+Alt+Del to lock my screen. That's when it happened. Again, my big fat fingers.
