Resolved [RESOLVED] UEFI (GPT) vs Legacy Mode (MBR)

I have a bootable USB drive with Acronis True Image which I have been using for years now. It works fine on my desktop PC.

Over the weekend, I bought a LG Gram laptop and I realized that the UEFI is a replacement for BIOS. After disabling UEFI, I was able to install Windows.

On the other hand, the bootable USB drive with Acronis gives me a 3 choices which in the past, was an Acronis Menu.

I have tried to recreate Acronis image to the USB with RUFUS as GPT. When I boot up with it, stills give me 3 choices which when I select choice 1 (Acronis True Image 64 bit), it goes into a blank screen.

Anyone know what am I missing? For UEFI, do I need to add WinPE or something like that? I am not sure what that is and where to download it.

    Here is during the bootup:

    Starting x64 UEFI Loader (v.1.1
Select an item by using the keyboard:
    1. Acronis True Image (64-bit)
    2. Acronis System Report (64-bit)
    c. Continue Booting

I am not sure exactly what your issue is from what you have posted.

Are you trying to boot the computer from the Acronis USB bootable drive to make a backup image?

Also, what version of Acronis are you using?

What version of Windows are you using?

Yes, I have always boot from the Acronis USB bootable drive in the past to make the backup image.

I am using Acronis 2019 and Windows 10. Windows shouldn't matter because I always make the backup before it boots into Windows.

That LG Gram is a new laptop. The Acronis 2019 bootable medial may not have the necessary drivers for the LG hardware, which may be the cause of the failure to boot.

You may have to try making a new bootable USB flash drive or DVD to be able to boot the LG computer from that. There are several options that you can try. No guarantees though.

In the past I would also boot from a bootable disc to make Acronis backups. With Windows 10 I usually just install Acronis and run it from Windows. However, once you have installed Acronis on the target system, you can then create a bootable media setup that has the necessary drivers included, and then boot from that to make backups if you still want to do it that way.

I want to reply and confirm that you are correct JDC. Version 2019 is outdated for this laptop. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction on this.

Honestly, I really hate all version of Acronis True Image after 2019 for the reason that they implemented TIBX file where I cannot just drop a incremental/differential images at my leisure. I guess I don't have a choice but to upgrade.
