Windows 10 file copying is slow, especially if you have 355,770 files to copy and you are running multiple copy operations simultaneously. Also, the time estimate is never even close to accurate.
If you are doing repeated copy operations using the same source and destination folders, a backup solution like Microsoft SyncToy or SyncBack from 2BrightSparks might be the way to go.
I found out about multiple copies being slower, I tried FastCopy but it made no difference. Transfer rate improved after a reboot, at least the rate is measured in MB not KB. I'm trying Teracopy now.
>When you say "checked the disk for errors", what diagnostics did you run?
Seatools and HDD Tune Pro. I found errors and switched out the disk but that's when I ran into trouble trying to copy the data back to the new disk. Hopefully, I'll complete that task today.

If the files were damaged/corrupted, that could also slow things down. Teracopy should notify you if it hits a bad file, and give you the option to skip it.
