Question Recording a VHS or DVD from Satellite TV ??

    Hi All ,
I was wondering if anyone knows if I can still record a DVD from my Dish Network Tv ? I have been able to Record from their DVR Boxes with their knowledge ( they set my VSH/DVD Recorder up to Record from the DVR Box , But now they have the Hopper and Joeys , Is this still possible to Record my Tv programs from the Dish Hopper ?
    Thank You,

    Thank You jdc2000,
The links were great and the last being the best one .
Im wondering if those methods will still work with the Hopper DVR , its way newer technology than the Regular DVR Box we have now , all the Older DVR boxes have been phased out and its just the Hopper DVR Box with the Joey boxes for every room you watch tv in , which I didnt have with my Failing DVR Box that I have now . I just want to Record it straight to a DVD, not a pc or not using a pc .... Just straight to a DVD like we were able to before ......
P.S. I was wondering when I first posted this , if it should be posted
    to Home Entertainment Forum ?
    Thank You,

Content providers do not really want you to record anything these days. They want you to pay them each time you watch something. Chances are you won't be able to record direct to DVD, but the only way to find out is to try it. If you can transfer the recording off of the DVR, that is half of the battle.
