    Libre Office

    What ho one and all,

When I have installed MS Office 2003, during the install, there is the option to select what I want (only Excel, Word, Outlook)

I am am currently trying Libre Office, which I almost prefer to the MS program, but I don't recall the option of not installing things I don't want. I only want Writer and Calc. Is there a way to no install or remove these?

    Thanks and toodle pip

To make Libre the default program for MS office documents:

    https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help...howto/windows/

Note that in recent versions of Libre the whole program and all the modules are installed by default and there is no way to selectively not install them. In older versions all the selective install actually did was not show the start menu icons to the unneeded modules even though those modules were still installed on the hard drive.

In other words it's all or nothing.

Thanks. I did also find that info on the LO web site but just asking.

Would be nice if I could create a shortcut to Writer and Calc so only they started when I want them. The Custom install only appears to have language options.

    Oh well, such is life.

The Libreoffice install creates a folder of shortcuts in your Start Menu. You could just copy those shortcuts to your Desktop or wherever else you want.

    Writer:
    "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\swriter.exe"

    Calc:
    "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\scalc.exe"

Good and easy call; Why did I not think of that? Thanks.
