Windows prompts me to change my password each time i log in

    Hi,

Since last week, each time i log in windows it forces me to create a new password. I am using a local user and can't find a setting in user management where i can stop windows from forcing the password change.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi,

Thanks for the links, I've tried each of them and the issue persists. Even when i lock my screen to step away for a moment, i have to change my password when i unlock my screen. So on a reboot, sign-in to my local profile or simply unlocking the screen to an active logged in profile results in my having to change my local password.

Any ideas as to why this is happening would be great.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Did you try creating a new Admin user account to see if that new account has the same problem?

I'm having the same issues with windows and it is extremely pissing me off.
    I also tried this

    but nothing's changed.
I'll try the rest of it and see what happens

    Hi,

Creating a new profile seems to have addressed the issue, its been three days and the constant password change prompt has not happened on the new account. Still very weird why this happened, I'm chalking it up to a corrupt profile.

    Thanks!

If a new user account does not have the issue, but you log in to the old user account and it still does, then it could well be a corrupt user profile.

2 methods for fixing a corrupt user profile:
Note: Make sure that you have a full system backup before trying any of these methods, in case something goes wrong.
