Security Warning when opening image file like jpg
So I have to ask, for the last year here I notice anytime I want to view photos (mostly jpg files) that I have always had on my system I get a Windows Security Warning. I looked around on the internet and it seems that alot of people are having the same issue, and the simple fix is to uncheck or check some box in Internet Option.
#1 though that came to my head is that the store JPG file on my system is not off the internet, so why is this fix under "Internet Option" / Security ???
Will update soon

What does the warning message say?

This is discussed in more detail at Bleepingcomputer a well respected Windows security related site. They also give a solution, a different one using regedit, but also suggest you may not want to fix it:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for...urity-warning/
FWIW, if it were me I would fix it by modifying that registry edit to only ignore ordinary graphics files.. also suggested there.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.

Went to the website and read all the posting and I didn't see any instruction on how to resolved the issue, other then to change the "file association". Nothing about the register edited....

Some photos I have are mine own, but how is it that Windows 10 think that its and image from the internet, when it's clearly a JPG file.

These days, Microsoft thinks every file you have is from the Internet. Many files also have metadata that tells where the file is from. If it is missing that, then you can also get the warning. It is even worse with Windows 10 and Office 2016 and later. You get warnings when you have a file you created that is stored on a network drive.

For grins, create a new folder like C:\TEMP and move/copy some of the files there. Now try and open them. Did the warning go away?
This web site has several suggestions - try #8.

# 3 is a different method to modify the registry as shown in my post above re Bleepingcomputer.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
