    Security Software Suggestion

I would like to install a total pc protection software, but minus home title, password mgrs., and credit protection. I just want a good two way firewall and virus and malware, along with security for my email. I've seen some like McAfee that has a vpn, but I heard vpns often slow down the pc or connection speed. If it slows it down a lot I may not want that either.

I had Norton's packages for a number of years, but in the last year these people began prompting me with pop up messages saying I need to upgrade to some new thing. This was going on constantly. Also Norton's protection also was constantly going up and up in price. When they told me one day that I couldn't get into my vault of totally important passwords, I finally blew up and opted out permanently. I replaced Norton with three individual security programs.

What's important to me is solid and comprehensive protection. I wouldn't mind a suite that I could allow me to install on my iPad Air and 6S iPhone, but heard this process may not run smooth and cause problems I'd like to avoid. The two Apple devices I have are running fine and I hate to mess with them.

I'm using WN 10 2004 for X64. Sure appreciate your thoughts.

I use Norton's antivirus and firewall software, but not the Norton 360 suite. I have not had the issues you saw, however, I have a separate VPN system and KeePass for a password manager. With most if not all commercial products, even Microsoft's, you will likely still get ads from time to time. The price increases for renewals are another standard trick. Some users avoid those by just not renewing, but buying a new version on sale at a much lower price and reinstalling and re-registering.
