Not enough space error - but there is
I created a partition of 931 MB, then tried to copy stuff to it. I get 'Not enough space.'
If I choose a 3 gig file, the error says 'You need another 3 gig to complete the operation'
If I choose 50 gig, the error says 'You need another 50 gig'
How do I fix it?
Thanks - rev

I hope you meant 931GB not MB? If you did mean MB, I can see why you'd get error messages, Rev.

Yep, my error. The curious thing is whatever the amount copied, that same amount is the space needed - as though the drive was already full.

What type of drive is this referring to? Post the make and model.
How is the drive connected to the computer? Post details.
What version of Windows?
Post a screen capture of the partition information from Disk Management.

What file system is the drive using? NTFS, FAT32, etc?
Like jdc2000 said, we need details.

The problem was me. I was trying to move gigs of stuff into a partition I defined as 931 megabytes instead of 931 gigabytes.

I guess it was what I asked, eh? Got to watch what you designate when building partitions, Rev

I was at home. However if you pay for my flight, I'll be beside you next time.

That sounds like a ticket worth buying. I just started a new sect, The Branch Covidians, you could be an honorary member.
