I live in the UK and for years have accessed AOL Mail UK on my laptop via Google Chrome using the URL mail.aol.co.uk
I then login with my Screen Name and Password.
This used to give mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-gb/suite
But now for some reason it gives mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-us/suite which means that all the news and sports items are American and not British.
Luckily all the mail items and saved folders are not affected and work OK, so I can still read, save and send emails.
I have logged in to my email account on a number of different laptops with exectly the same result, so it is not specific to my laptop.
If via Google Chrome I use the URL aol.co.uk and login with my Screen Name and Password it correctly gives aol.co.uk with British news etc. but if I then then click on <Mail> it again gives mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-us/suite with American news etc.
I have tried accessing my email account using Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge with exactly the same result.
As an experiment via Google Chrome I logged on to aol.co.uk and created a new AOL Email Account.
Strangely, no matter how I login to this new account, it correctly gives mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-gb/suite with British news etc.

Since you are getting the same results in different browsers, it appears to be an AOL setting of some sort. If you try using a different computer and get the same results, that should confirm that it is an AOL issue. If you get UK results on a different computer, it is possible that it might be a Windows 10 Location setting issue.
I have emailed AOL UK Support about this problem and their reply was "Account access support is currently unavailable due to COVID-19 health and safety considerations for our employees." which is not really much help if you are having problems.
Hi jdc2000,
I am beginning to think you may be correct and that it is an AOL issue which may not be corrected until AOL UK Support is again available.
Since your new AOL email account works on the same computer as the old AOL email account that does not, that would seem to indicate that it is an AOL account problem with the old account.
You would think that AOL support staff would be working from home though.
