[RESOLVED] Start button doesn't work on Win 10, all icons changed on desktop....Dell Inspiron15
Just all of a sudden my start button quit working, plus all my icons on desktop went crazy. Went horizonal and I can't change them. I have tried all kinds of things to get my start and desktop back... So finally I reset my laptop and after losing all my apps that I installed, NO Change.... I am on a Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop....I want my original desktop and start menu back..
I really would appreciate any ideas or places to find help.. I am desperate...Please help..
Thanks for any help..

So, are you saying that the entire display is rotated 90 degrees? If not, please provide additional details as to what you are seeing, maybe by attaching a screen capture.
If the display is just rotated, the following links may be useful:

Windows 10 Rotate Screen Hotkey & Shortcuts
For example, if you like to rotate screen 90 degrees, you can simply use the hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+Left). If your computer screen is upside down, simply press Ctrl+Alt+Down or Ctrl+Alt+Up keys to turn it to normal.

No its not rotated... My start menu does't open at all. I can right click on it and it brings up a black box with some programs.. Also on quick start taskbar, I have to right click to get those to open. I don't know what has happened... I will send a pic of desktop... Thanks for replying

What happens when you press the "Windows" key on your keyboard? Does that produce any response?
Check out the link below to see the keyboard shortcuts to open the "Start" menu in Windows 10:

What error did you get when you tried to attach a screen capture?
Without seeing what your screen looks like, I am just guessing, but it may be possible that Microsoft has "helpfully" activated "Tablet Mode" for you. The link below may contain useful information on how to deactivate that mode, if it is activated.

Thanks jdc2000, I have tried a little of everything, and nothing worked.... So I just reinstalled and its back to my regular start menu.
Just to let you know, and only thing it said was there is an error.. It didn't have any numbers or anything... I just wonder if it was the extension. it was .rtf Thanks for your help....
