    empty recycle bin

    hi,
Ive prob not thought of doing this for a few years

just decided to do it..... 52,000 items found....

its started to delete them ... been running for about 10 mins and
    now 18% complete !

Have I made a mistake neglecting this ? should you maybe do it once per month?

Maybe emptying it will make my comp run a lot smoother ?

    thanks for advice.....

It would certainly use up a lot of HD space unnecessarily. I empty it at least once per day using CCleaner to delete other space wasting files/folders as well.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

52,000 items is a lot for a single folder, which is what the Recycle Bin is. If you are using it (I don't), it should probably be cleaned up at least annually if not quarterly or monthly.

There are several ways to empty very full recycle bin quickly.

You can simply delete recycle bin as described here: https://www.intowindows.com/how-to-q...user-accounts/
    It'll be recreated on reboot.

You can use some utility like this one: https://bluefive.pairsite.com/recyclenow.htm
