I have a Windows 7 computer and every time I try to shut it down this blue screen pops up for just a few seconds before my computer automatically restarts. I can't read it in that amount of time, but it says something about updates, which I know I don't get anymore, and something about disabling BIOS Memory. I have no clue what I'm doing. Please help.
You might be able to use BlueScreenView to give you some additional information on the error. Then we might be able to diagnose the issue and find a fix.
I don't understand the steps on the blue screen if you could maybe walk me through. I haven't installed any new hardware or software though. It just started last night out of the blue when I went to shut down for the night.
It just created a new system restore point this morning when I used revo to uninstall and reinstall Avast so I could run a full system scan. I don't know what to do now. I'm so worried.
All I have is Acrobat and Flash Player. I don't know if those would make a difference or should be disabled. I only have Windows 7 personal, not the ones listed in the article.
Disabling Adobe Genuine Monitor Service will fix the problem...
1. Type services.msc within the start menu’s search bar and right click to the entry services.msc shown within the start menu search results.
2. Use the context menu Run as administrator and confirm the UAC prompt to launch the services manager.
3. Search for the service Adobe Genuine Monitor Service and try to change the service status (you can stop or disable the service or set it’s start option).
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.

I can't understand what I'm supposed to do or what happened. I'm not tech savvy at all. I checked for errors and there weren't any. I am, I found out, able to go to a further back restore point, but wanted to see what the next step I should take is before I do anything that might make it worse.
It just popped up and told me that Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown if that means anything, but when I got that before nothing changed.
