[RESOLVED] 'Icons' (?) on web pages
What ho one and all,
Using XP and FF38 ESR but this trivial issue has been around for many years and I have not bothered to ask.
Attachment 13953
Referencing to the image, what are the little rectangular blocks. They should obviously be something informative, but what, and more importantly, how do I make them visible?
Not only appear on this web page, which is my BT Yahoo mail page, but also on many other pages. Whilst not a major issue, it is annoying.
Toodle pip and thanks
Rex

What do they look like if you load the page in a different browser? Post a screen capture of the page from Chrome or IE.

Rekusu--
They look like substitute icons for links.
Does anything happen when you click on one?
Right click on one, then Properties. What does it say in "Type of File"?
Try that on several. Do all say the same in Type of File. Reassociate that type of file with the appropriate .reg file in this link.

Make sure you are allowing the site to use its own font.
Tools > Options
Content
Fonts & Colors > Advanced...
Check "Allow pages to choose their own fonts"

Midknyte has hit the nail on the head.
I don't let web site select their own fonts or colours because the page can frequently look a complete mess and very difficult to read with funky fonts and colours. But allowing did bring up the little boxes. Just the usual list of Save / Delete / Sort / etc.
Thanks
