USB keyboard wont work anymore
Using a HP 110-210 desktop computer running windows 10. The computer has quit working and will not even go through the boot process due to the keyboard not being seen or recognized. No lights come on keyboard but a mouse plugged into same USB port works as far as lighting up. Tried keyboard at another working computer and it worked. This occured after i had used one of USB ports to charge phone. Is power supply under sized. Only 65 watts or is it a motherboard issue.
Thanks

Did you try all the USB ports? Did you try resetting the BIOS? If there is no reset jumper on the MB, just unplug the PC and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes.
Charging a phone shouldn't have caused any problems. If anything, it would be a MB issue, not a PSU issue.

Try the keyboard on another computer to see if it works.

I thought about that also and did it and it was fine on the other computer.

I will be trying your suggestion tonight about the cmos reset. It might enable me to get to the BIOS.

Still no keyboard

Even after removing the CMOS battery for several hours and reinstalling, the keyboard did not respond. With no keyboard I can not even boot into the BIOS to check the settings. Is it possible to only replace the motherboard, cpu, and memory and have the old hard drive work with the new components. Only other option I see is a new computer.

Did you try a different keyboard?
If anything, you could just replace the motherboard with the same model. If you move to a different system entirely, Windows would probably need to be repaired/reinstalled, because the HAL wouldn't match (BSODs). As for licensing, the OEM Windows license would be tied to the original hardware anyway.

Your only other option might be to try an add-in card with USB ports. No guarantee that the BIOS would see it though.

I don't see where you tried the Keyboard in another USB Port on the same computer.
Something could have happened to the USB Port you are using and it may be underpowered now.
It may just be enough to power the mouse and not the Keyboard.
I think I'd try it in the Front USB Ports if you had it originally plugged into a Rear Port.
Have you tried another Keyboard on this computer (Different Port)?

Actually I did try the front USB ports and they did not work. I also tried the other USB ports on the back. One of the few times I wish I had the older keyboard type of connection to try and get into the BIOS. But this computer has none. Thanks for your ideas.

Kinda hard to give suggestion.
If it were in front of me I'm sure I'd have lots of ideas to try.
Were you able to try another USB Keyboard?
If not, I sure would give that a try.
I know, it doesn't make sense that that Keyboard would work in another computer but not yours.
If you don't have a spare, borrow one from a friend or relative (I'd loan you my spare if we were neighbors).
