    Question Monitor randomly shuts off

    I've had an issue for the last couple of months where my monitor randomly shuts off but the computer stays on. This issue happened a little over a year ago with a previous monitor and I purchased a new monitor. It is happening again. The monitor will shut down after several hours of use or non use randomly every couple of days. I have checked the monitor and connections to the pc and can see no issue. Looking for answers.

    I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1
    Intel i5-2450P CPU @3.2GHz
    RAM 16GB
    Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 730
    Monitor ASUS 27" HDMI SonicMaster

    Have you disconnecter the video connection then insert, unplug several times?
    3 or 4 usually is enough to clean the contacts.

    What type of connection are you using? HDMI? VGA?

    Which video drivers are you using?

    Sorry for taking so long to get back. No I have not done that. I will do a clean and give that a try.
