Windows 7 Back-Up
I have an HP Pavilion DV6-6047CL, running Windows 7, 64 bit. I have tried several times to backup my computer with the Windows Back-Up. It fails every time that I try. I have even tried to back it up on an external driver & it fails. My external drive is WD My Book. I do not know if the external drive has any software on the drive. I have never used it. I bought it to back-up my computer. I was wondering can anyone suggest a piece of inexpensive software to do this. Please advise me of your recommendations.

I use Acronis TrueImage. There is a free version from WD.

Another one is Macrium Reflect.

If you want to just sync some folders to another drive, you can use Microsoft's SyncToy or SyncBack from 2brightsparks.com
