Resolved [RESOLVED] Basic System Device Drivers Missing

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
    Pentium Duel Core T4200 @ 2.00 GHz
    Memory 2 GB
    Service Pack 1

    Lenovo KIWDX reference laptop
    System serial 11S43N8351Z1ZG6H98COVK
    System model Lenovo 44463GU Lenovo 3000 G530
    System Serial R8XLMOO

When I get to "device manager" In "other devices" I have two yellow "basic system device" and it says the drivers re not installed. So i tried "lenovo KIWDX", "mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family" which takes me to something called "Driver Scape". I went to "Intel Driver Update Utility". Isn't there some way to get to Intel's site and find the drivers? Do you need more info from me?

    Thanks

In answer to your question here is the Intel site for drivers, etc.
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

If that does not help, in Device Manager right click on the "basic system device". One of the options you should be offered is "Update drivers".
Click on that and follow directions.

Also you should be able to identify the "device" when in Device Manager by right clicking the "device" and then the Details tab. From the drop down list chose "Hardware id's". Make a note of any VEN and DEV codes and then go to
    http://pcidatabase.com/
and see if you can determine the manufacturer.

However, what is not working? That will help identify the "device". Maybe you do not need the device??

Welshjim thank you! After mucking about for about eight hours on this you fixed it in about 10 minutes. I had gone to the wrong site, not https://downoad center.intel.com/ but something close to that and got something else. I did do the "device" route and got 4 VEN codes and found out it's a developers site and it's Intel stuff. Everything is working so I didn't pursue it any further so i am assuming, like you said, I don't need it. What a relief! Thanks again!
