[RESOLVED] adobe flash player will not update
adobe flash player will not update
I have tried several times to download and install the new version of 17 something , it downloads a biniary file, when i try to istall it the download window just stays blank, when i close it out , the download disappears, and another window opens, i can't tell you what that is.
Is there a 3d effect with this and may not be compatible?
Only time i use it is if there is a video that relates to it.

Where are you getting the download from? Which browser are you updating?
What version number are you downloading? The current version is 17.0.0.188

Which Adobe site did you go to? Did you go to the one in my link or the general site? My link is to the distribution site.
You need to install the version for plugin browsers.
http://download.macromedia.com/get/f..._17_plugin.exe
If that still doesn't work, do a complete uninstall and reinstall.

That's why you need to document when you fix things.

Bug? I don't know what you mean. What does Flash have to do with cable TV?

Well it's the same version that was there before, unless there was a patch to it.
There really isn't much i can do about it, when the links are sent to me as directed to the updates, there isn't much i can document about it. Maybe you better contact them and ask them why their links don't work and what you send does? This is on win 7 i haven't got to vista yet.
Macromedia, leaves a bad taste in my mouth and memory, i have tried to avoid-it, what it has to do with cable vs pc is blocking and tracking that i have experienced,
I did not do any thing different except these links had an installer exe in stead of a binary???????????
I don't have the answer

Did you uninstall Flash completely like I said in post #4? Sounds like something got corrupted. Hard to say, since I can't duplicate your error.
I wouldn't work for Macromedia. I'd rather work for Google or something.

No scripting may have been the culprit
