Crashing when going to Sleep

I'm using a Win 7 64 bit Home Pro, Gigabyte P55 mobo, 8gigs ram. For some weeks I've been having sleep/hibernate issues. I removed Hibernate from my options, following simple instructions acquired here.
But now my Sleep mode won't work. It shuts down the desktop but my HD continues to run and my only option is to do an emergency shut-down restart. I've tried to make a copy of the event from the log but I don't know how to upload a valid file or even which file to upload. Such is my lamentable ignorance.

Did you disable hybrid sleep? If you disabled hibernate, you should also disable hybrid sleep.

From a command prompt run the following:
(from cmd )

ipconfig /all
ipconfig /Flushdns
ipconfig /release /all
quit

restart the computer

Hybrid Sleep disappeared with Hibernate.

Setting Processor Power Management: Minimum to 100 % seems to have solved the problem. Don't know why. I picked this advice up on another forum. So far I can set Sleep at whatever I care to and it responds correctly.

This has been persistent. I've disabled hibernate mode, but the computer often crashes after going to sleep. I'm using Win 7 Home Prem 64 w/a Gigabyte P64 Mobo, 8 gigs of RAM, i5 CPU and ATI Radeon 5450 video adapter. I have Sleep set at 45 minutes. I've experimented with removing/replacing a particular USB hub. That's my main suspect. Can't hurt to ask the doctors, can it? I've been checking for driver updates but seems all my drivers are current. I just did a CClean disc and registry cleaning and I'm going to check to see if I go into Sleep mode without the USB adapter. This has been going on for two months. Thanks for all your help over the years. You are the best!

Yes, that's me. I'm not getting BSOD. Just screen off, green HD light on but no red light HD acivity. After doing some hygiene and removing the sketchy USB hub, I've got it going to sleep at the set 45 mins. All I can do is observe. It seems to revert to funky behavior after a while.
