    Sleep, Hibertnate etc don't work

I'm using Win 7 Home Pro 64 on a Gigabyte Mobo with 8g Ram. I defrag regularly with Perfect Disc 10 and use normal computer hygiene. Lately my hibernate and sleep timings don't work. I ditched the System Mechanic utility on my last reformat (6 months ago) and use only Windows utilities. Can anyone tell me how to correct this inconvenient glitch? Or guide me to a utility that effectively cleans up my system? I plan to study up on Sysinternals and learn how to use them.

    Thanks!

Are you using hybrid sleep or not? Sounds like you need to delete the hiberfil.sys file and let Windows recreate it.
Turn off Hibernate, make sure the hiberfil.sys file is deleted, and then turn Hibernate back on.

What do you mean by "cleans up my system"? CCleaner should be good enough.

I turned off hibernate when it started going hinky on me. Reading the material from Tech Repub I have a better understanding of what Hibernate does. I'll follow your suggestions. Thanks. And make sure you keep air freshener in Cell Thirteen. Sage is always good.

Good luck. I'd prefer a Japanese Peace Lily, but beggars can't be choosers.
