    Resolved [RESOLVED] Battery Problems

    Confused:

First time laptop owner. Battery icon said 'plugged in not charging '. There are 4 lights around tbe edge of tbe kbd three are green (or blue) and one is red. The unit is approx 1.5 years old so I think its time to order a new batt, which I do.

Battery arrives today and while looking at the video on how to change it I look at the battery icon and it now says fully changed 100% , There are 3 green (or blue) lights around the kbd. Apparentley the red one has died.

What am I supposed to do?

Unplug from the wall and see if it runs.

Do not leave it plugged in all the time.
Yes, my laptop and battery are over 7 years old and both are running just fine.
I do not depend on the battery light, but mouse over battery Icon is the systray and read that.

I, once in a while do this, step2 on down.

What's your laptop brand and model? I leave my dell xps 13 plugged-in all the time and my battery still has 92% capacity after 1.5year. So, instead of having a 10hours autonomy like it had when it was new, it has 9.5hours or so.

Going to keep my spare handy and will install when old one gets too bad. Thanks for all the tips.

Dec 29th 2007 is when I bought that Toshiba A505D and it is still running on the original battery.
And it sure has the road miles on it.

    Good LUCK with it.
