Errors in Google Webmaster Tools Data Testing
Hello, everyone. I'm hoping you can help me because I'm flummoxed as to what to do. Last week I had my site verified for Google Webmaster Tools. The thing is, I keep getting the below errors when access it to make sure all is working as it should be. Is there a way to remedy this? I self-host on wordpress.org.
Webmaster Tools - Structured Data Testing Tool
Error: Missing required field "entry-title".
Error: Missing required field "updated".
Error: Missing required hCard "author".
Thank you on advance

Thank you, kk. The only problem isl I don't seem to have a single.php file to make the corrections. I use an old Pool theme from wordpress.com. (I'm afraid to apply a new theme because previews of several themes show everything going wonky!) lol

Maybe you could just add a .php file with the necessary data. You might also try the Wordpress forums to see if anyone there has any ideas.

Thank you, jdc. However, I'm not equipped to even enteratin the idea of adding a php file. As for the wordpress forums, all I ever found is what kk showed above, and the only real solution seemed to be changing the code for those in the single.php file, which, again, I don't have

Line 17 reads : <title>Parsley, Sage, and Sweet -</title>
Should read :<title>Parsley, Sage, and Sweet</title>
About all I found and the .css looked fine to me.
The pages worked fine in Firefox.

Thank you, Train! Now, where do I go to correct the above? Index.php? Also, you said everything looked fine otherwise, so does that mean the Google errors are errors on Google's part?

I would leave it alone.
One of the reasons we check to make sure the pages work fine with several browsers.

Thank you so much, Train. The reason I do want it fixed is for SEO/Google Rich Snippets reasons. There has to be a way!!!! LOL

I don't believe that there's any information provided in Webmaster Tools that isn't provided in the Google Structured Data Testing Tool. However, the addition of error reporting for structured data in Webmaster Tools is extremely useful, as it notifies webmasters of problematic markup without requiring webmasters to first validate their code in the Testing Tool.
