In Search of a Good Open Source File/Folder Backup Program

Can someone suggest a good open source (free) file/folder backup program for Windows 7? I have an external USB 3.0 hard drive and I just want to run a scheduled nightly backup to it of important folders. I'd like it to be able to recognize which files have changed and only update (sync) the folders rather than copying everything over every night.
