No up arrow in notification area
I understand that there is a supposed to be an up arrow button in the notification area so that the user can change the icons which are shown. But my notification area has no such arrow.
When I try to customise the notification area all icons are shown but all the behaviours are greyed out and cannot be changed.
Any ideas, please?

Right click on the taskbar then go to "Properties" click on Customize under Notification Area. You can customize the notification area there.
Please do not use "PM" for personal help, post in forum so everybody can learn

Thank you, Murf, but as I say all the behaviours are greyed out and cannot be changed.
The probem is the absense of the up-arrow thingy.

I think you mean this:
Right click on the taskbar then go to "Properties" click on Customize under Notification Area.
Uncheck "Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar"

Philip M--Yes, the up arrow is to show Hidden icons, but if all are on display in the Taskbar the arrow goes away.
