    Videos don't play

I am a big sports fan so I go to ESPN.go.com and the other varied ESPN sites on a regular basis. For some reason, none of the videos on those sites will open for me. I know they used to and I'm not sure if I did something to prevent them. Could AdBlock have anything to do with this? In any event, can someone point me in the right direction? I am using a laptop with Windows 7, Firefox 27.0.1, and have Shockwave Flash and Silverlight Plug-in installed and activated. Do I need something else?

Sorry, I had Adobe Flash Player installed. When I click on the download button on the Shockwave site, nothing happens. I tried turning off my Virus protection, to no avail.

OK, I've got Shockwave Player (12.0.9.149) installed, but the videos still don't play.

That's the wrong Shockwave Player. You need Flash 12.0.0.70 for PLUGIN browsers (like FF).
    This one: http://download.macromedia.com/get/f..._12_plugin.exe

BTW, I have FF27.0.1 with Adblock Plus and Flash 12.0.0.70 without Shockwave Director and it plays the videos on ESPN.go.com. Those are FLASH videos, not Shockwave Director videos.

Did you try running FF in safe mode (no addons)?

I have Flash 12.0.0.70 installed. I did open the same videos using IE, which I don't normally use, that won't open in Firefox. The videos DO play when I start Firefox in safe mode. What does that mean?

That means you probably have an addon that is blocking the flash video. What addons do you have? You can try disabling them one or two at a time and see if the video will play. Then you can narrow it down to which addon is the problem.

Midknyte, I did as you suggested shutting each of my addons down, one at a time, to no avail. Which addon would you suspect might block the videos?

Can you take a screenshot of your addons?

It's possible one of your settings is causing an issue as well. You could try creating a new profile.
