Hi all,
Asking this question in behalf of students looking for a cheap "laptop". I notice in Ebay there are a lot of netbooks with Android Systems. Really inexpensive.
Can Microsoft Office prods be installed on an Android System? What about Open Office?

Microsoft Office Mobile works on Android and can be installed at no extra charge if you have an Office 365 subscription that includes the full Office 2013 desktop applications. Simply download the app from the store on your phone and sign in with your Office 365 account credentials, and then you can view and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents from virtually anywhere.

OpenOffice.org is a discontinued open-source office productivity software suite, from which Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice descended.

Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 was released for x86 versions of Microsoft Windows XP or later, Linux (32-bit and 64-bit), and Macintosh OS X 10.4 or later. Other operating systems are supported by community ports; completed ports for 3.4.1 included various other Linux platforms, FreeBSD, OS/2 and Solaris SPARC, and ports of 3.4.0 for Mac OS X v10.4–v10.5 PowerPC and Solaris x86.

LibreOffice is officially developed for Microsoft Windows (IA-32), Linux (IA-32 and x86-64) and OS X (IA-32). Community ports for FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD are maintained by contributors to those projects, respectively. A community port for OpenIndiana is in development.

In 2011 plans were announced to port LibreOffice to both Android and iOS. A-EON Technology announced in 2012 that a port of LibreOffice is underway for their AmigaOne X1000 computer running the latest AmigaOS.

LibreOffice Online will allow for the use of LibreOffice through a web browser by using the canvas element of HTML5. Development was announced in October 2011 and is ongoing. It has not yet been released.

If you're asking if Windows applications can be installed on Android, then no. Android is a version of Linux.
