A little of you're expertise needed here

So my daughter picked up the "Tube Dimmer" Virus which I have managed to kill I think but....during the kill process I think I dumped a folder or two in the registry of her Windows 7 64 bit laptop. The computer is acting goofy on the reboot as it just hangs at the welcome screen or sometimes it wont hang.
Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way to reinstall or repair the registry without going through the hassle of a complete format. The Laptop is a Lenovo Z570 and has the "One Key Recovery" tool but if I use it my kid loses lots of photos and music etc. as I dont have enough storage media ( memory sticks etc. )
Is ther no way to just repair the registry?

Try a system restore. That will fix system files but leave her documents/photos intact.

    Mudflap--
Unfortunately a System Restore may take you back to the time you had the Tube Dimmer malware.
A Repair Install may repair the Registry and will not affect present personal data or installed programs.

I have a set of recovery disks that I made for this laptop. Would they help?
