    A bit of computing history

The Apple II DOS source code can be seen here, for programmer types:

Very cool - I'm going to share it with 3 of the folks with whom I (attempt to) make music as part of a jam band: they work for Apple, and one has a 2-digit employee ID!!

I started my pc life on an Apple III which didn't have a hard drive either.

I started with an Apple IIe. We bought it used, and paid what I consider an outrageous price. It had a duo-drive, a monitor, innards which I can't remember, and no hard drive. We had to load the OS from a floppy every time we turned it on. My daughter claims it's just half a step up from stone tablets and chisels.

It's packed away in a box in the attic. One or more keys were sticking last time I tried it.
