I moved the computer so I could have a direct ethernet connection and I do have connectivity now with the hard line.
So it works ok with a wired connection?
Did you do a factory reset of the router? (you will have to re-enter your network settings.) Did you update the router's firmware?

Windows 7 can support WEP but it will not automatically set it up for you.
Therefore, if your router is set to use WEP, you will have to perform a manual setup using the instructions in the following link.
