You may lose a couple of stops

A couple of stops, eh? LOL I'd be surprised if it will work at all. Does the original poster show any photos taken with it?
You should have said any Nikon DSLR photographers, Nick. I'm a DSLR photographer but use Pentax.

K200 I like it as when I feel like it I can use my 30 year old lenses from my old manual Pentax that I used until digital cameras came out.

Lens incompatibility is why I probably won't buy a Canon DSLR. The excellent lenses for my A-1 cannot be used on any Canon DSLR.

With Pentax DSLRs and compatiblity of lenses we can even use M42 screwmount lenses, though we need the M42 to K mount adapter and it's not hard to find one, since Pentax still makes them. Btw, I also believe there is an adapter to use Pentax lenses on Canon DSLRs. The reason I say this is because of the forum i am a member of, where talks about our lens prices going up because Canon users are buying our glass.
