win8 and its ie10
I tried to download and save a file : the IE10 asked me " do you want to save such file " ? I clicked on "OK".
Where's the file located at? with Win 7, usually, the files I downloaded were in "my download " file.

You cannot change default download location of the Metro IE 10, however, it helps by changing the download location of the desktop IE. Follow these steps to change the default download location to a location of your choice.
a. Open Internet Explorer 10.
b. Press CTRL + J to open View Downloads window.
c. Click on the Options link.
d. Click on the Browse button
e. Navigate to and select(highlight) the folder that you want IE10 to use as the default download location, then click on the Select Folder button.
f. Click on OK and Close.

Thank you, Train, for the link.
You said: we cannot change the default Download of IE 10. Yes , I understand we cannot. But where's the IE 10 default download located. Where to find it.
Thank you

I use the ie 10 on the desktop, not the tile version.
When I want to save a pop up comes to the bottom of the screen,, run, save or save as.
It will by default save in downloads or use save as to save on the desktop where I save everything until I am finished with it.

nganvu--Download a file with a very distinctive name. Then run a Search for that name. Hopefully you will find the downloaded file and learn the location of IE 10 downloads

Unless someone figures out how to completely disable the Metro interface, I have no plans to use Win 8 on a desktop system. It is way too ugly, the tiles are too large, and it makes accessing the usual desktop programs and functions more difficult than on Windows 7 or XP.

I find Win 8 very easy to use; just a bit different. For myself it reverts to desktop where I've saved shortcuts to "Downloads", "Documents" etc. You simply go to control panel > administrative tools, and the familiar menu with "computer", "libraries", "network" etc. is

I posted some of my first impressions here: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/...st-impression/
Win 8 startup screen and a lack of real "Start" button was the main issue for me.
Resolved it with 3rd party utility:
- Start8 (5 bucks): http://www.softpedia...ew-301966.shtml
After installing that computer goes straight to regular desktop and I have regular Win 7-like "Start" button.
