[RESOLVED] Question Regarding Registry Keys On Desktop PC And Laptop
I have a desktop pc and a laptop both running Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.120821-1629 : Service Pack 3) as shown by winver.
The desktop pc has the following registry keys:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
Whereas the laptop has the following registry keys:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
Is this correct ?
Both the pc and the laptop appear to work OK.

Numbering doesn't matter. It's fine. ControlSet00# are backup sets for your main "CurrentControlSet"

Thanks for your reply Midknyte.
Glad to know that there is nothing to worry about with the numbering.
