There is probably a script that runs to update things like that and the script probably runs once an hour or longer.

So a script runs to update things like that. It used to update right away, now it can take an hour or more as an "improvement". Gee, isn't that special.

I only use Chrome and Chromium; it took less than 2 seconds to get to this page, less than 3 seconds to log in and return to this page. I'll edit how long this post takes.
This post took about 1 second to appear. I must not be coming around when the site is slow. Seems decently fast to me.

Maybe I am dreaming but the VDr site does seem faster today.

Is anything actually being done about the slowness?
It's simply a pain.
Navigating, posting takes for ever.

It took me 35 seconds to get to this page.
I just ran some tests here: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/
I compared three similar forums to see how fast the main page loads.
1. My forum (the main page is 480kB in size): http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com
Average load time (3 tests): 2.2 sec
2. http://windowsbbs.com/ (333kB)
Average load time (3 tests): 2.2 sec
3. This site (391kB)
Average load time (3 tests): 6.4 sec
That's for the main page only.
Going any deeper is a challenge.
There is definitely something wrong.
Too weak server for the newest software?

I sure hope so also, it is indeed a pain. According to SpywareDr (from another post) this may have something to do with it.
The new vBulletin software may not be through indexing our over 1.3 million messages yet.

It's been what?
Two weeks? More?
I remember BleepingComputer, which is a HUUUUGE site going through an upgrade and it took them maybe 3-4 days to reindex everything.

Looks close to what did happen in New Jersey until they put vdr on it own dedicated server.

And then there's the fact that the ADS are coming from a different server. If you have a bad/poor hop getting to the ad server - it could cause problems.
I haven't heard back from the guys and gals upstairs. Am sure they'll look in to this.

It shouldn't affect main page load time.
