Google Maps
What is the problem at http://maps.google.com/maps using IE? When I enter a postal address and click Search, nothing happens. All other links are dead, including clicking the Satellite option.
(another URL for that page is http://maps.google.com/maps?ftr=eart...h&utm_term=evl )
Also when I enter a postal address in the IE9 Address bar from any other webpage and then click the Search icon, I do get a small Google map, but cannot move it left/right/up/down, Zoom out or in, report problems, etc.. (Google is my default search engine.)
There is a yellow message at the very top of both windows implying that the page is slow loading, but waiting for what seems a long time accomplishes nothing.
I have tried deleting the IE cache, but that does not help.
I have installed Google Earth. It seems to work OK.
The UK version of Google Maps ( http://maps.google.co.uk/maps? ) performs as expected even for USA maps.
Bing maps work fine. And http://maps.google.com/maps performs as expected in Firefox.

http://maps.google.com/maps -> works fine for me with IE8. It listed several cities as I was type the zip code...I select one and all was well. I could also click the map and move it around...or use their scroll arrows. The Satalite version want ed me to load a plug in which I passed on.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Google Maps is working fine here in IE, Firefox and Chrome, on both XP and 7. (The latest versions of everything).

Thanks for the responses.
Still no luck here. http://maps.google.com/maps opens fine to map of the USA, but no response to any clicks and there is still the line about "Still Loading...Slow?" at the top. That line also suggests using "basic HTML", which gives only a small Google map which can be moved using arrows, but nothing else.
By the way I do have Google Earth installed. Also the Google Earth plug in if that is something different. I do not see the latter in Add-ons.

By luck I got things fixed.
IE9 Tracking Protection was enabled at the http://maps.google.com/maps site. I do not know how or why. I turned it off from a round green circle icon just to the left of the Refresh icon on the Address Bar.
The http://maps.google.co.uk/maps? site did not have Tracking Protection turned on. And there is no round green circle icon on the Address bar.
I am not sure I see how to put that green circle icon in the Address bar--not that I really want it-- but it might help me understand why it got turned on in the first place.
Any comment on that? Maybe IE9 puts it there itself when senses that a webpage is accessing ads from other sites. I do not see maps.google.com in the Manage Add-Ons Tracking Protection|Personalized List window. There are several entries for google.com but their Status column entries are all marked "Undecided/Allow".

SpywareDr--Thanks for the link. I was aware of the IE Gallery, but do not feel I have used any of those non-MS lists. I do, however, have quite a few entries in the Personalized List which I have assumed IE puts in there and puts the round green icon on those web pages to allow me to choose whether to use Tracking Protection or not. Maybe this is messed up thinking.
Of the few sites on which I see the round green icon, Google Maps was the only one so far where Tracking Protection was enabled.
