    Yahoo Toolbar Won't Accept New Bookmarks

    Running Win 7 Pro here with IE 9 and, I think, Yahoo Toolbar version 8; I should be able to click the green Toolbar Settings "gear" icon and find the version 3 there but Toolbar Help just brings up this Yahoo page.

    The problem that I am having is with adding new bookmarks (web pages) to a Yahoo Bookmarks folder that I just created today. I try and add SageTV (or any other site) by clicking on the Bookmarks folder and and then clicking "Add page to [folder]" but where I typically would have time to edit the name etc. in the Add Bookmark window it closes by itself in under 1 second. I have turned off IE 9's Pop-up Blocker but the Bookmarks window still disappears on its own. I know that the Yahoo Toolbar has a popup blocker but I don't know how to manage the settings for it.

    Is there a reason you specifically need the Yahoo Toolbar? IE has a perfectly capable pop-up blocker built in. And of course, IE can easily maintain all your favorites/bookmarks.

    AFAIK, the core purpose of any and all toolbars is to track ALL of your web traffic back to the toolbar maker. Not cool IMO...

    No, I don't specifically need the Yahoo Toolbar but I really like the Bookmarks part of it - - also, as I've been using YT for several years now I have my bookmarks arranged and labelled as I like.

    I'm not concerned about being tracked by a toolbar and, yes, IE 9 has a perfectly adequate popup blocker but for the time being I really need to understand why the YT Bookmark window closes itself.
