    Recycle Bin wont empty

Hi , I Wonder can you help me

Every time I try to empty the recycle bin I get the following message as included in the image attached.

The file in the recycle bin was a file that wouldnt be deleted so I had to use unlocker to get rid of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Shinma and SupersparksThank you for your kind responses.
The problem is that I have already used unlocker to delete the file and now the recycle bin comes up with the error message as outlined in the previous attachment despite there being no ACTUAL file. So I cannot input a file into either of the two previously recommended programs.

I have checked the C://RECYCLER folder and that is empty even when showing hidden files
I have also booted in safe mode and i still can not empty the already "empty" recycle bin

Any further suggestions would be very much appreciated,
    kind regards,
    Jack

    Since you already used Unlocker,
Enter Safe Mode and delete using Unlocker Assistant option.
    Cheers.

Thanks Shinma again for your kind response,

but my problem is still here and is soo annoying.
I am beginning to think it might be a rootkit as i have seen similar issues on other forums so maybe this should be moved to the icu or virus section.

    Thanks for any continued support

jackmorris2205--I assume there is nothing else you want to keep in the Recycle Bin, so delete and recreate the Recycle Bin

    Dear Welshjim,

I have tried the steps as outlined on the link you provided but am still receiving the error message. I believe this to be a virus now so I will repost my original thread in the correct section if that is ok?

    Thank you for your suggestions

Since I have no permission to answer in the other thread....

A removal in a DOS box should do the trick.
    - Go to Start > Run type in cmd
    - Next browse to C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-XXXX-XXX and copy the address from the addressbar.
    - In the dosbox type in cd and paste the address, this will take you to the Recycle bin.
    - Next type dir /a. You should see the folder Dd12
    - Type cd Dd12
    - Dd12 should be in the command prompt (C:\RECYCLER\..\Dd12>), if so type attrib *.* -S -H -R /S /D
    - Try to empty Dd12 (command: del *.* /S /F)
    - If succesfull delete Dd12 ( command: RD /S)

    Recycle bin

    Dear Dep

Just tried the instructions you laid out but still the folder is there. I am almost convinced it is malware of some sort at this stage.

    Thank you for your help.

    dEAR DEP,
I retried the method you suggested and when i type cd Dd20 it says Access is denied

Any further suggestions? It is not a virus as Broni has given my computer a clean bill of health.

The Dd20 file is in the D drive recycle bin. It doesnt become visible even when The "hide protected system files" box is unchecked, so I cant use unlocker to delete it because I cant see it!

Any more help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello my friend,

I sometimes have this happen when i try to delete a file in use..

In other words i move TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES to the bin and then try to delete the folder,it wont go.... What i have to do is OPEN TASK MANAGER and "end task" on explorer.exe for a few seconds... Then i restart it and then put something else in the bin then i can click DELETE and it all goes....... (Ending task on EXPLORER.EXE releases any files in use by the OS (Or it should))

    Good luck!
