Resolved [RESOLVED] Norton's Internet Security 2010

I have read about this software by Symantec and I have one big question .
Can it really do all the things it says it will?? If it does, then no one would need to install and run all the other apps we have running. I bought it for $10 but am leary of it's advertising. As usual, TIA.

What are the functions you most doubt?. It is a pretty good program.
Since you already bought the program, use it and answer your own question.

I got your message Jim but I was reluctant to announce that I had installed it and now use it without additional malware; etc apps . Guess your answer tells me that you haven't bought into it since you are a 'former' user of Symantec NIS products. I vowed that after the removal of previous Nortons SW that I would never install such SW again. I lied!! The advertising about this app was too inviting.

Some here quite like it as opposed to, and you alluded to, attitudes towards Symantec for a long time. I have no opinion since I haven't tried or seen it in use yet.

I'd still have malwarebytes installed to do occasional/weekly scans in any case. Can't be too careful.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

Thanks fink. I am leary of letting it do everything but I have been using it for about a week and so far so good. Of course, there is always 'that' first time and then it might be too late. I will be watching it very closely.

Using Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware as manual scanners won't hurt anything. Hopefully, if Norton is doing the job, you won't find anything...

Thanks HAN, something fink said a few days ago and I had forgotten to do it. Will do it next but will first re-install the app because I had removed it when NIS convinced me that the 2010 program will take care of all my needs. If it does, it is one heck of a program. Nothing so far other than "alarms or notices" of what NIS had done.
