Cannot access Safe Mode due to viruses/spyware
I'm running a sony VGNFS920 pc with Windows XP. The system has been acting weird and slowing down to a crawl and not allowing me to access teh internet.
I'm pretty sure I've gotten infected with some viruses and/or spyware that I can't seem to get rid of when I run Webroot Antivirus. So I logged onto the virtualdr and found some instructions about running the anti virus software in Safe Mode and then running hijackthis.
However, when I tried to access Safe Mode (I can get to and select the Safe Mode option from the blue screen) I get the following error message:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent further damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this screen, restart. If it appears again follow these steps:
check for viruses on your computer. Remove newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK/f to check for hard drive corruption and then restart. "
Techical info:
stop: (0x0000007b (0xf89a6528, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I get this message each time I try to run in Safe Mode and I have to restart my computer using the power button. It powers up fine as long as I stay in normal mode.
I don't have any newly installed drives or hard drive controllers. so that can't be the problem.
I think my hard drive is properly configured because I haven't made any changes to its configuration.....so I think the problem is a virus one.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated....as I don't know where to begin!

* Double-click SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
* An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.

I tried running gmer.exe 3 times. All 3 times my system gave an error that said Windows did not have enough resources to allow me to save the log file. Each time I had to restart my computer to get it running again.
So I just went ahead an performed step 4. Here are my results from the HijackThis run:

A hijackthis/malware expert will be along soon. I've moved this to the hijackthis forum in the meantime.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
- Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
- Close any open browsers.
- Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
- Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
- Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
NOTE. If Combofix asks you to install Recovery Console, please allow it.
- Close any open browsers.
- WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
- Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
- If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
- Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
- When finished, it will produce a report for you.
- Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**
Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.
DO NOT make any other changes to your computer (like installing programs, using other cleaning tools, etc.), until it's officially declared clean!!!

How is computer doing at this moment?
It doesn't appear you're running any antivirus program. What's the story here?

The computer seems to be doing ok. Although....I've tried not to do much on it until I had it all fixed.
I took down all my anti-virus software so I could rerun the combofix.exe program. That's what the original set of instructions said to do before running the program and I followed them again before running it a second time. I then posted my logs and started the anti-virus software running again after posting both logs.
Do I look clean? Or should I rerun HijackThis with my anti-virus software running?

It looks pretty good so far, but I want you to re-enable your AV, and give me fresh HJT log, so we can proceed with final steps.
