Cannot copy sometimes

Is it possibly my mouse or perhaps the software or.... There are times that I cannot copy any, or only some of the, text. Other times I can copy if I begin at the end of the text and highlite going right to left. Even this does not always copy the text. I have no problem pasting the text but something is preventing me from copying adequately. I just installed IE 7--no help. I am open to any and all suggestions and as usual, TIA.
Forgot to say that I saw nothing in the search in this forum for this problem.

If you are talking about copying text from web sites in Internet Explorer, some web sites use a variety of methods to prevent copying of text on their pages. If the text is actually displayed as a graphic image, then you are out of luck without an OCR software program. It it really is text, you may be able to get it using View Source, or by using an alternaitve browser that allows you to turn off or ignore the code that prevents highlighting and copying the text.

Thanks JDC. I have a weird wireless Logetec mouse. Perhaps I should remove it and re-install, if I can find my install disk. There are times when I can c/p and many other times I can't. Usually I can highlite the item I want to copy but then again I can't; that is to say a part of the paragraph will highlite and the rest won't. Sometimes I have found that I can highlite beginning at the end of the wanted material to the beginning and it works. I don't generally do this but instead try to highlite from the beginning. They are many times that I can't effectively drag a file from the desktop to place it in a folder; not without trying 2-3 times. Frustration sets in pretty quickly. Oh well thats computing. I still find amazement with the things these machines will do.
