Not Sure if right place or not....
Hi
i WAS running vista when i got the blue screen and bad pool header. could not get into safe mode / run last good config or anythingjust got theblue screen. so i cleaned the drive and tried to reinstall firstly vista then xp but i allways get the screen back up somtimes at same point in the installation but somtines i do get further. i have put anew hard drive in but made no difference. i have switched swapped changed and used one with out the other of the ram but mad no difference. in stuck now and cant get anywere. any help would be great please

The exact contents of the error message(s) would be helpful. If you have tried a new hard drive and different memory combinations, that leaves the following:
1. Add-in hardware cards. Remove any you don't absolutely need to install Windows.
2. Power supply. Post the make and wattage.
3. Motherboard. Check for bulging or leaking capacitors.

Try changing the hard drive data cable if you haven't already. If that doesn't help then I'd suspect the hard disk controller on the motherboard as the most likely suspect.

Depending on what motherboard you have, if you have PATA and SATA ports, you might be able to change to a different hard drive type and get it working. It could also be a memory controller problem though. You could try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults.
